A Decade Later…

 It has been a long time since I last wrote here.

Looking back, I realise that this blog has quietly documented my journey as a designer—from illustrations and books to fashion, products, branding, and ideas that I simply wanted to bring to life. Somewhere along the way, life took over. Professionally and personally, it has been a roller coaster, and this little corner of the internet remained silent.

But creativity never really left.

Over the years, my role evolved in ways I could never have imagined. I began as a designer, grew into product development, took on product ownership, and later found myself working with fabrics, materials and regenerative product thinking. Looking back now, I realise there has always been one question quietly following me throughout my career:

What impact do the products we create leave behind?

Long before sustainability became the conversation it is today, I found myself questioning materials, manufacturing, longevity, waste and the responsibility we carry as creators. At the time, I didn't have the vocabulary or the frameworks to explain it. I only knew that good design should do more than look beautiful—it should create value while respecting people and the planet.

That curiosity has now become intentional.

Today, I am studying Sustainability of Indian Business at IIT Madras, not simply to understand sustainability as a philosophy, but to learn the science, the measurement frameworks and the decision-making tools behind it—from Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and ESG to Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and circular economy principles.

At the same time, I continue to explore an idea that has been quietly growing in the background: Materia Insight. It is still evolving, still being questioned and validated, but at its heart is a simple belief—that better decisions begin with better understanding of materials, products and their impact.

This doesn't mean I have left creativity behind.

If anything, I believe creativity has become even more important.

Design gives us the ability to imagine better products. Sustainability gives us the responsibility to build them better. The future, I believe, lies at the intersection of both.

So, after nearly a decade, I'm opening this journal again.

Not just to showcase work, but to share experiences, lessons, observations and conversations from a career that continues to evolve. And, lots also to catch up for unsaid or undocumented times. Some posts may be about design, some about product development, some about sustainability, and many will simply be reflections from the journey itself.

Here's to another decade of learning, creating and, hopefully, contributing in meaningful ways.
